In this video, we focus on what it means to be an ethically sustainable citizens. We look at how ethical and sustainable principles are affecting our life choices. We look at how the effects of ethical and sustainable principles might affect future investments, and how investments aligned with meeting UN sustainable goals would be perceived in a positive light by the populations as they would be seen as taking a proactive role in being a global citizen. Consumers have become more educated and concerned with negative impacts of globalisation such as labour issues and environmental degradation. Most people have reduced consumption of unsustainable products such as palm oil due to deforestation and forest fires. There is also a growing concern on animal welfare rights in fashion, especially with caged animals. We are then propelled to question products, become involved directly, and engage with the wider community. Hence, it is important for businesses to meet these demands, investing in ethically-driven and sustainable practices. We believe that such investments can bring better returns since it promotes sustainable economic development.
